Inhaltsangabe / Literatur / empfohlene Vorkenntnisse
This course will be in English. It will provide an introduction to the theory of Lie algebras. Lie
algebras are elementary objects: vector
spaces with a bilinear operation satisfying a couple of simple conditions. Nonetheless they have
found widespread applications in physics and mathematics. The only prerequisite is linear algebra.
We will cover the standard foundational material that can be found in Humphrey's introductory text.
